VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
CO-OP PLACEMENT AT ETOBICOKE GENERAL HOSPITAL
During the summer of 2019, I decided to take a co-op placement to get a feel for the career I wanted to go into. I was placed in the Diagnostic Imaging sector of the hospital and was able to interact with technicians, physicians, and patients. I got a first-hand look at what a career in the medical field would be like and this experience only added fuel to the passion that already existed. I interacted with the patients, took care of appointments, and was given several other responsibilities. I had an up-close look at numerous procedures and surgeries. Being a curious individual, I had many questions and the staff at EGH were helpful in answering my questions. They mentored me and I also met like-minded individuals in the same placement as I was. All in all, it was an amazing experience and helped me grow as a person.

VOLUNTEER COACH WITH NRBA
This experience helped me build on my leadership and cooperative abilities. I taught the players fundamental skills, pushed them to exceed what they thought possible, and helped nurture their love for basketball. Coaching was an amazing opportunity and had numerous responsibilities that came along with it. Although it took a lot of patience, it was rewarding to see the positive outcome of all the hard work.
ST. FIDELIS CAMP VOLUNTEER
I have been a camp volunteer for over two years. In my time as a volunteer, I've created weekly schedules, guided campers on excursions, and completed my fair share of responsibilities. Working as a camp volunteer requires a lot of patience, responsibility, and cooperation; all skills that I built on throughout my time volunteering. Creativity was a big part of helping to lead a camp as we were competing with their attention daily. This pushed us continuously to come up with new engaging activities so the campers had the best experience possible. As a camp volunteer, I was a role model and it was very rewarding to witness the positive influence I had in the campers' lives. Of course despite having lots of responsibilities, it was also an entertaining experience for me.
